So today is the big 4-0 birthday. It is really funny when I talk to my friends and family about the changing of the numbers I really do not have feelings one way or the other on getting older but everyone else does. For me, I am starting to realize that as I get older, that I am learning more about who I am and what I want out of life.

What I know for sure about me and my life are: {in not particular order}

1. Laugh till you cry is the best!
2. Kind people, with kind faces make me smile
3. Helping others fills my heart
4. Seeing people being kind to others is heart warming
5. Snuggling with my daughter on a Friday night watching movies
6. Being with my husband doing nothing
7. Doing what is best for me and not worrying about pleasing others
8. My dog cuddled up so close to me, that there is no room for me to move
9. Sweating on the treadmill {my health}
10. Becoming an aunt warms my heart
11. Seeing my daughter beam with pride when getting her 1st place ribbon in Synchro
12. Surrounding myself with thoughtful, caring and loving friends that have my best interests at heart
13. My daughter singing as she walks around the house
14. Knowing I just took a really great photo
15. A beautiful sunrise or sunset

There has been so many deaths and illness in the past year with family and friends, that I cannot in anyway, be anything but blessed for the wonderful life I have been given. Getting older is a fact of life, so I will embrace it with wide open arms and an open heart.

Nothing better that a Thursday afternoon wedding. More and more couples are getting married on days other than Saturday and I love it! When I asked the couple why they chose a Thursday they said ” Liza Minnelli was born on a Wednesday, so that makes any day of the week a great day” and I agree So Happy Wednesday everyone!

With September here and Fall Flavours happening this month…I thought I would share my food photography shots that I had done for a wonderful restaurant “Clamdiggers” located in Georgetown. Here are just a few items on their menu with a staff that has graduated from the Culinary Institute of Holland College. The talent that comes out of the kitchen is amazing……Clamdiggers is apart of the Fall Flavours tour and I recommend stopping by.

Korandin and Peter had a visit to the Island last summer and loved it so much they wanted to get married here I take it for granted that we have beautiful beaches and beautiful sunsets and amazing people …. it takes a different perspective for me to appreciate what I have here on PEI. Korandin had also never seen a lighthouse in person before so we had to get to Covehead beach…. while there we were caught in a flash rain storm… Korandin and Peter said it would make for a fun memory and I agree

One of my favourite parts to a wedding is the shoes……and YES….for any shoe lovers out there, like myself….those are a pair of Badgley Mischka’s and I LOVE them!!

Kerri & Nathan are an excellent team! They work well together and are very in love. Their attention to detail with their wedding made it so fun for me!! Thanks for the great day! Enjoy Hawaii

It is so hard to believe that this year is my 20 year high school, would be reunion (even though our class has never done any reunions). In my heart I still feel 20 even though my body and face tell otherwise. There are a few friends that I have kept in touch with and many I have not. Looking back at our high school graduation, I remember making promises of never losing touch with each other but unfortunately we have . Life just gets so busy and goes by so quickly.

One of my best friends in high school was Maeghan. She is a fun loving, easy going spirit that was definitely with me though very good times and some very rough days in my high school life. To my surprise and very happy delight I received an email this summer saying that she would be on the Island with her family and would like to see me.

One of the best perks of being a photographer is that I can capture family and friends in my life with photos that they will cherish forever and I was able to do that with my dearest friend Maeghan

Maeghan, you are one friend that I will never lose touch with and I am so blessed to have you in my life….. xoxo Shelly

Kerri and Nathan met and fell in love in the sky….and this weekend they make it official. Here is a few of their engagement shots and I look forward to their wedding this weekend. Kerri and Nathan are so much fun and I know there will be no shortage of fun shots!
